An Example of Existentialism-the ninth intelligence

Howard Gardener presents a plethora of influences for multiple intelligence.  The area that is rearelyt engaged for young children is their questions about death and dying.  Here is something that I found in our Doc Sharing from my colleague Madeline Wend.  It is a small but informative piece of information on helping children deal with grief.   Thanks Madeline!

Children and Grief what are support resources and how to get help?

What do you do when your child is very sad from a loss of a parent, a loved one, a grandparent, an animal, or disastrous loss? Who can one turn to that can help?http://childrengrieve.org/ This is a wonderful website that helps with all sorts of grief topics and coping for children who have suffered a loss. This is a national website and can direct you in the direction of resources for other help and assistance. For those residents that live in Texas,https://www.thewarmplace.org “The Warm Place” is an excellent resource for free counseling, free preschool grief classes, and free support for children 17 and under. Please check out this website it has also inspired others to create similar agencies in their towns even. When a child is grieving it is important to take in consideration the emotional, physical, and psychological needs.  Another great resource is Griefshare that is all over nationwide, you are welcome to search and see what is in your local area as many have family and children free programs that are faith based. Though we can not stop grief, we certainly can make life easier to help support children and their families in times of loss.
